Born and raised in Mexico City, Marcela learned to cook at a young age from her mother and grandmother Rosita, who instilled in her a deep appreciation for the flavors, techniques, and ingredients of Mexican cuisine. Marcela's love for food started at a young age, in the kitchen of her grandmother Rosita. She was fascinated by how different ingredients could be combined to create rich flavors, which felt like magic to her. This early experience in the kitchen with her grandmother likely played a role in shaping Marcela's passion and love for cooking.
Marcela moved to Italy 23 years ago and was fortunate enough to learn the secrets of Italian cuisine from her husband's grandmother, Nonna Irene. Marcela was captivated by the flavors and ingredients used in traditional Italian dishes and soon fall in love with Italian Cuisine. However, she never forgot her Mexican roots and the delicious food she grew up eating. When we asked which food she prefers, Mexican or Italian? She told us... Both Mexican and Italian food holds a special place in Marcela's heart and it is difficult for her to choose between the two.
She believes that each cuisine has its own unique character and offers something different to the table. She says that just like when you love your children, you love both Mexican and Italian food for their own individual qualities and attributes.
