Our initiative for International Women's Day 2024 transforms the Barbie doll into a symbol of women's inclusion in society.
By reshaping Barbie, we challenge the conventional image associated with the doll, transforming her into a symbol of diversity and resilience, and also the disruption of traditional norms, while addressing pressing social issues such as pay equity, educational access, and freedom of expression.
Women, as agents of change, play a fundamental role in this project. Through various artistic techniques such as painting, sculpture, photography and installation, the artists visually explore the realities of gender inequality in different countries, jobs and roles. They focus on telling moving stories, highlighting notable achievements and exposing persistent challenges, all to raise awareness and encourage reflection.
The innovative aspect of this project lies in the incorporation of technology through QR codes. Each work of art will carry with it a unique QR code that will allow viewers to scan it and access the narrative behind the creation. The artists will be able to share their experiences, inspirations and reflections, providing a deeper perspective on how women can generate significant changes in today's society.
