My journey from Zimbabwe to the Netherlands has been one of resilience, determination, and passion. Six years ago, I arrived in this country seeking refuge from political turmoil and the threat of detention back home Growing up in Zimbabwe, I was surrounded by strong, resourceful women who eked out a living through the art of hair braiding and weaving. Raised in a community where single mothers were the backbone, I found inspiration in their unwavering determination and entrepreneurial spirit. Despite being a school dropout, I was captivated by the craft and the opportunity it presented for financial independence.

Hair braiding and weaving became more than just a skill or a regular business; it became my lifeline. Becoming a single mother only fueled my determination to succeed, as I knew I had to provide for my children.
